Senate Republicans approached the 1.9T package of pork smartly

First they forced a full and complete reading of the bill. I am hesitant to even use the word Bill as we all know this was NOT done in the proper process of a Bi-partisan bill. Certainly no Republicans were consulted even though about 10 Senators met with Biden it was all show. They stripped the $15 minimum wage, lowered the continuing incentive for unemployment from $400 to $300, and as it was read support from moderate Democrat Senators began to drop off for things like Pelosi's tunnel to Silicon Valley and other wasteful items. Because this was done under budget reconciliation they are limited in what they can do but anything is better than nothing. The focus should be on real Covid relief and support and opening up States and schools that remain closed in BLUE states of course.

It’s been 300 for a while dems tried to increase it to 400 and that’s on top of the state amount and in a lot of states that extra money let’s a lot of people earn more not going back to work than working
