RS was and is a TRUE CANE who actually BALLED for the program and had been a DC on a championship team but he never was a HC at any level. He was in over his head from day one and shouldn’t have been hired.
AG was and is a snake oil salesman.. He had more resources than any other program in the MAC but Temple was still a middle of the road program.. Once again, he was in over his head from day one and shouldn’t have even been on the interview list to have a chance to be hired.
MR was and is a TRUE CANE..He may not have ever been the GUY at Miami but he played behind a couple of legends and was on the team when Miami was becoming “The U”..Even though he never won a National Championship as a HC, he had a GREAT coaching career at UGA. Unfortunately, by the time Miami had enough of Al Manifesto’s shenanigans, MR was burnt out from coaching and was ready to retire. He had to be coerced into taking the Miami HC job. He had Miami on a magical ride one year with the nationally televised win against ND being the best win the program has had in YEARS. But deep down, everyone with any good sense knew that Miami was REAL close to being 7-3 instead of 10-0 & wasn’t ready for real squads like Clemson.
MD was on his way to Temple to be a first time HC but Miami’s AD decided against doing a real thorough HC search and brought him back to Miami within 48 hours of Richt gifting the program with the ability to have a fresh start & resigning-Blake was so nice, he even gave Temple a bag for their trouble. The only thing of value Diaz has brought to college football is the turnover chain-which damn near every other team in the country has copied in one way or another! (You would think he’d keep those turnover chains/TD rings locked in a case when the team is getting their azz kicked but he doesn’t even have sense enough to do THAT) Once again, he was in over his head from day one but damn near everyone in his shoes would’ve done the same thing and took the Miami HC job
in conclusion, there are many things that need to happen from the top down in order for Miami to even start winning the weak azz coastal from time to time..but these coaching decisions are a visible sign as to why the program is & has been a Grade A SHYT SHOW
