My opinion is not personal. It's is just rooted in my knowledge of competition.
To make an analogy i believe you have to knock out the champion in a boxing match. You aren't going to be able to out point the champ.
Malik is the only QB on this team that has played in big games and won big games. He has also lost big games but experience does matter. Everyone on this team is competing fairly and aren't going to deserve a player that isn't out there that gives them the best chance to win.
The knock out means you have to consistently out play malik. Every practice and every scrimmage you have to look the part. Not for just one series or one day. This stuff is charted over time. Many practices and scrimmages. There has to be a clear cut favorite because they are going with Malik all things are not abundantly clear there is a better player that gives us a better chance to win.
These social media sites are notorious for playing the results. I don't know who did the best today. I wasn't there. I just see a bunch of opinions and stats. I know the decision isn't just based on stats. It is based on things that only coaches are charting. I wish all of these QBs the best.
Rosier: His pluses are he understands how to get us into the right play better than anyone according to the coaches. He is consistent in that. His minus is his accuracy.
Perry: His plus is he is progressing in terms of understanding what to do. His minus seems to be his inconsistency. If he is going to win this job. He can't have drop offs.
Williams: Not scared and looks the part. Looks like a leader out there. Thats his plus. His minus is he needs reps. He is very inexperienced at this level.
Weldon: I haven't seen an updated version of him or received enough information. I have not given up on him. He is maturing. I just need to see more.
Right now imo these games are important and these 15 practices are important in terms of preparing for the real competition which is in the fall. That's when everyone will be here and everyone should know what to do. Make plays in the fall or make a move in the fall then you win the job.
Right now as best as i can see, i think people are putting way too much on playing favorites. Nothing wrong with rooting for a guy but the results are the results. The competition is the competition and right now i still see Rosier as the leader of this team.
