I guess that you believe that our political parties have high moral standards. I do not. From my view, they look at the end result, rather than the means. The majority of politicians are lawyers. In my business, I deal with multiple lawyers all the time. Over the many decades, I have never once had a single one tell me that I am misaligned with the moral high ground. Instead, they assess the situation and take a position that will help me achieve my objective.

The job is zealous advocacy. As an officer of the court their is a code of ethics we ostensibly follow. Politicians are far less likely to follow them. I agree, some are grimy. Thankfully the body politic has sufficient checks to minimize the impact of scumbags.
