Would have been a great marketing campaign this year with the upgrades and renewed experience at sun life and the new deal with Adidas. What would have total set this off is if we had a new coach bringing some excitement and renewed energy into the program along with this.
I think this year would have been a great revenue drawing year. If miami would have fired golden and hired Charlie Strong, man south Florida and hurricanes fans would be electric leading into this football season. Recruits would be excited because they know charlie and what he did. The atmosphere right now would be built with crazy optimism, instead of pessimism, and tremendous energy/excitement!
The PR/promo department could have rolled out stuff like:
New HC Charlie Strong brings with proven results and a fresh energy that has all of South Florida "RE NEW U D"
Terrific state of the art upgrades at sun life stadium delivering a great " RE NEW U ED" experience for our fans, students/alum and players!
University of Miami has Partnered with Adidas to outfit our players with very best cutting edge jerseys and equipment... Making that " RE NEW U D" energy surging through The U and South fla and even STRONGer category 5 HURRICANE
yes The University of Miami is definitely " RE NEW U D" in 2015!
I think we definitely missed the boat on this one, maybe they can try in 2016 lol!
Doesn't seem like miami has been off a year though? We were a year late in firing Coker. Arguably a year early in firing Randy and now, when we could capitalize on so much happening with the new apparel and stadium upgrades, we will probably be a year late in firing golden. A sub par year and golden getting fired will really leave a bad mark on the new uniforms and stadium upgrades/experience. Oh well just my thoughts
