Look at the impact that Brown has had, and whose role is even more important now, now that Walton is out with a season ending injury.
Banda has been a solid, steady coach getting guys like Young and Johnson to play at an impact level- Redwine is of my favorite players on defense.
Coach K- The name says it all. Arguably the best D line coach in the country and his value can't be overstated.
Guys like Hartley and Dugans and Searels have done a respectable job too.
And these positional coaches have been hands-on in recruiting. The chemistry in this coaching staff and team overalll is solid right now and permeating down to the players – obviously a nine game winning streak will do that to a team. but when I take a step back and look at the molding of this football program into a bona fide top 15 ACC contending program again, what often gets overlooked is the job that Richt has done in surrounding himself with solid high IQ football coaches.
it has been a long time since we had A and B caliber positional coaches working hands on with players- and a lot of this player development across the roster comes from the players daily learning from the positional coaches more than the coordinators. listen to the interviews from the players – they talk more about their respective positional coaches then they do Mark and Manny. And that is not a slight at either Mark or Manny, but a bona fide props to the bond which has been developing between these players and their positional coaches.
So a shout out to other coaches who deserve some earned recognition the last 9-12 games.
Go Canes!
Prost! (Cheers!)
