Players tend to channel the language and mindset that their coaches have while leading the program and it's likely that's the case here. That mentality is a loser mentality and a clear indicator that their current staff is not up to the task. When you are 3-6 and in the midst of a multi-year nosedive you should not be repeating the same mindset from every other week and you definitely should not think that's something to say publicly like it will rile up the boys and fan base. That kind of "trust the process" nonsense is how organizations and teams convince themselves they're not to blame for the poor outcomes and its just a matter of bad luck or something.
