R.I.P. Sidney Poitier. A forgotten acting legend and pioneer in todays age of wokeness.

Or, as our racist president would say, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,"

I wish his family well.

Damn, we were just talking about him on here recently. First memory of him for me was in To Sir With Love and he instantly became a favorite of mine. It didn't hurt that he grew up in the Bahamas just like some of my relatives. The world lost a brilliant actor. RIP Mr Poitier

Amazing that a man known for his articulation and intelligence didn't learn how to read until his teens. "I must also pay thanks to an elderly Jewish waiter who took time to help a young Black dishwasher learn to read. I cannot tell you his name, I never knew it. But I read pretty good now. "

I remember his movies as a Kid. To Sir With Love, In the heat of Night. Just a fantastic actor who truly broke barriers. Sadly kids today are still bitching and whining about how bad race relations are. They should watch those 1967 movies. I loved those movies.
