Perception turned into reality. Miami has a huge alumni base in the NY tri-state area. Playing in NY in the world's most famous arena is huge. Fans turned out and you can hear it through the TV. Michael Irvin highlighted often, Shalala and various BOT members in attendance as well. In 2 years the ACC tournament is in The barclay center. The hope was to move the tourney up there permanently. The old guard won't let that happen.
