It was really nice to see TVD live up to some of the early expectations that people had for him .. and for him to come out and back up his presser comments from earlier in the week. Forget whether the opponent was a legit #18 or not .. TVD's early deep balls put the NCS defense on notice that he had a live arm and some decent accuracy. Night game, Hard Rock, ranked opponent and some "trash talking" back and forth .. and the moment wasn't too big for him. These live fire events are SO important for him .. and the WR's / TE's (and Rooster!!), since a lot of their practices aren't full speed. You can see the game slowing down for him .. and also see that after a mistake he just goes on to the next play. He will be a totally different player by the end of this season and by the end of Spring practice in 2022 he should be a really solid more polished QB. Really hope that Garcia's ankle injury wasn't too serious and that his recovery will be quick and total. Should be a really interesting competition between those two .. and I hope that Garcia can get some live fire reps this season as it helps with QB growth immensely. I watched the Illinois / Penn State game .. and believe if TVD or Garcia were the QB for Illinois .. it never would have gone to overtime. Sitkowski can't pass .. Illinois had something like 360 yards rushing and 36 passing at one point. UM is fortunate to have TWO QB's who would be starters for a large number of D1 programs. Now we need a top quality HC.
