Vacation destinations

Okay, I need some guidance. I'm trying to take my wife and soon to be 6 year old son on vacation. A good family spot outside of Florida and I'm trying to stay in the US. I'll gladly listen to any ideas or places and things you all have done. I'm from PA so the NE doesn't thrill me but we did Chicago for a few days last April and really like it! Other than that we haven't been too many places.

A lot will depend on what you like to do and what time of year you're looking to go. As far as family spots go Utah is a great place to visit. There is quite a bit to do out here especially if you like the outdoors, although it does get a bit hot during parts of the summer. The scenery is so varied in different parts of the state to the point where it feels like you're visiting different states. If you're into boating, Lake Powell is an amazing place to go with more shoreline than the state of Florida. Good luck.
