We no longer have a free press. We have a corporate media that pushes narratives.

One of the issues is that media is bound by their advertisers demands. Take big pharma for example. They spend in excess of $5 billion per year on media advertising, which includes online platforms. They also have at least one board member in common with most large media companies. So there is no way that you write critical pieces on your number 1 source of revenue.

Fortune 500 advertisers are scared to death of being boycotted or cancelled. An associate of mine is a corporate lawyer. She told me that large companies have ZERO sense of social responsibility; however, everything they do revolves around optics. At all costs, don't offend the customers. Through common board members and the threat of witholding advertising dollars, Fortune 500 companies have tremdious influence over the news.

This post is a hundred percent spot on, to a lesser degree I would include Fox News.
