All Republicans vote NO, 2 Democrats vote NO. Final vote 218-212. This is NOT how politics in our system is supposed to work.
9% for direct Covid relief. Majority of spending comes in 2022.
We really have absolute FOOLS running our Country.
The minimum wage provision renders it void and DOA in the Senate. The squad already came out and said the Parliamentarian of the Senate should be FIRED LOL LOL. They must be the dumbest of dumb ever to serve.

What's dumb about firing the parliamentarian? It's been done before in similar circumstances.

No it hasn’t. The Senate parliamentarian can be replaced when the other party takes control of the Senate or if the party in power replaces he or she you fool

Yea lets get rid of the Ref at half - Time its not working for us...
Typical of the left... POS.!!?

Another example of you lacking critical information during a discussion. This article will provide you a history lesson on a recent firing of the senate parliamentarian by the Republicans. This is an example of your analogy about changing the refs.

Yes he was Parliamentarian off and on for many years and issued a ruling on filibustering budget bill. Chosen by the majority party they removed him and replaced him in a power sharing agreement. Big deal. The issue at hand here is quite clear that the Budget reconciliation Resolution can not contain the mandate on the States to increase the Federal minimum wage.

Very reassuring to see the President come out today and speak for 2 minutes or so. Again takes no questions. Thanks Pelosi for her leadership but makes no mention of subway for her district. Bridge for Schumer and NY and all the other pork in this package.

No lie those are the facts. Don't deflect from the real issue 218-212 voted on at midnight. 9% for Covid relief. Dumb azz democrats.
That's not what we're talking about. We're talking about the previous firing of the parliamentarian by Republicans which you knew nothing about. Deflection at its finest!!

Damn I hate to, but I have to credit CEMS for finding a relevant parallel. A few Republicans did some shading things during the Bush era.
Two wrongs never make a right. Some demo's will bark, but I don't see them going against the Parliamentarian. Manchin would actually go ballistic on that one.

The wage issue is one that should be debated - stand alone, as part of a much broader economic and develpment discussion.

Lets be real. The Republican party ain't about giving working class folks anything. Why waste time listening to your side lie and pretend they are serious about raising the minimum wage. That's also why they voted for Dems in 2020.

Because 29 states are already on track to increase minimum wage over next several years and because the lowest % of workers paid hourly even get minimum wage it’s under 2%, and because when it goes up lots of folks gonna get canned

The Republican party is a fiscal responsible party. Does it make sense with all the damage that Covid has done to businesses to further burden those businesses by increasing the minimum wage? You do realize that those employees that are above the minimum wage, but not that much above, will be expecting raises as well. This will domino affect businesses out of business. Some industries worse than others. So, does it make sense to increase the minimum wage now? Hell no.

Huh? This is what happens when the chickens come home to roost. You ain't seen nothing yet. I knew this was coming and it is only going to get worse. This is what happens when your greed dictates how you govern when you get in office. Guess what? You aren't always going to be the ones in office....with the power.

It's not how politics is supposed to work? Where exactly have you been living the last few decades. It's not supposed to work this way only when you don't like the legislation passing right? When you do like it you have no problem with it. If Republicans don't give Obama a hearing for his pick for the supreme court was it working right then? Or what it oh well too bad? When Trump was Jamming down his supreme court picks going against the republican parties explanation you wait until the elected president picks in an election year I am sure it worked right then huh?

This is what happens when the chickens come home to roost. This is just the beginning.

Each of the prior Covid relief bills before Biden were done in a bi partisan manner. That is the way it is supposed to be done CD you fool.

Let’s see a person working for a company for several years making say $12 per hour and now the new kid gets $15? I don’t think so
Makes no sense. The min wages aren't just for new employees so what are talking about. Secondly the minimum wage is going to be incrementally implemented if passed. You aren't getting 15 dollars per hour as soon as it is passed. IT's phased in. If there is someone that warrants more money they are free to go get it.

Dems don't give a shit! Thank God finally! We are doing what we want because we have the majority!!! WTF do you not understand? Democrats are not interested in any bipartisan manner because the republicans jammed there shit down their throats the last four years without any bipartisanship so if you expect it in return that's on you. Wake TF up already. These political parties are divided and you are walking around acting like there is no history here and dems are the only people responsible for bipartisanship. That ship has sailed and aint' coming back no matter how many threads you start so get used it. IT's only going to get worse. Stop whining and deal with it. Get a better candidate. Once that happens you will win the majority? Get the votes. That's America. Stop whining.

There's never a good time for Republicans to raise the minimum wage. This statement by you is why you Republicans are full of shzt when it comes to open and honest debate.

You do realize that those employees that are above the minimum wage, but not that much above, will be expecting raises as well.

Why the hell would those workers expect a raise? Their salary is above $15/hour. This tactic by Republicans to deflect from the real discussion gets old.

Your predictions are worthless. Look at your prediction Trump would beat Biden. Also, Republicans have a history of reneging on voter referendums such as minimum wage hikes.

Lot of good min wage hikes in blue states are going to do when there’s not enough retail shops, restaurants etc open to pay anyone due to their governments putting them out of business.

You obviously haven't supervised labor to make that statement.

Wrong!! I worked in the IT profession for many years and have supervised many both here and abroad. Also, I've owned fast food places and dealt with hourly workers regularly. At times I paid the minimum wage while other times I paid more. My last stint as a business owner which was 4 years ago my starting pay for new workers was $10/hour. So stop assuming you are the only person who knows something about supervising. What a dumb thing to assume.

He got ya! You watched internet porn all day, which does not qualify you as supervising IT professionals. Flipping burgers does not mean you own the joint either! Lololol
