Sadly, Will’s grandfather passed away this week. Fell at age 82 causing a fatal brain injury. Very sad news.
Saw this news but just learned that his grandfather was the noteworthy college head coach, Bill Mallory. Did not know that. I remember Bill as the HC at Indiana. He also had several other coaching gigs during his long career.
Football genetics: two of Bill’s sons (Will’s father and uncle) went to Michigan and went on to play in the NFL. Both now coach in the NFL.
We are so fortunate that Will chose Miami despite his tight legacy with Michigan. I’m predicting that he will have a productive freshman season (20 catches?) and a breakout sophomore year when he will likely be at the 6’5”, 240 lb size. In combination with Brevin Jordan, the Canes should be dominant at TE.
