With regards to today's terrible events

as well as the injustice that has happened in the last week........

It's important that I say, I love all you guys regardless of color, culture, or religion.

Our country finds it self more divided today on a multitude of issues than I can rememeber in my 41 years.

Message boards and Facebook are going to get nasty today. Let's not do that here. We have plenty of time to cuss each other over whether Choc should start or whether we blitzed enough on 3rd down.

Hey, tell someone today who does not look like you that you appreciate them. It's a start........

Regardless of what we look like, where we come from, or what we have, most people probably want the same things in life. We want our kids to be safe. We want our kids to have equal opportunities for happiness. We want to provide for and take care of our families. We want to be treated with dignity. Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the police officers murdered in Dallas probably had a lot more in common than it would appear on the surface.

With all do respect to what you said which I agree with 100%. But until we can stop looking at people as LOOKING DIFFERENT we will never fix anything. As a white man married to a black woman I have never looked at her as anything other than a woman. I understand not everyone looks at things like this. But we have got to start respecting ever cultures differences. I grew up poor and have made a good living for not being college educated. I have friends of all races. My best man at my wedding was black. Who is my 2nd best friend and I served with him in Honduras in the early 80's. ( my wife is my best friend). Being in the Amy for 10 years I had a lot of friends of all nationalities. What I can say is everyone one that I have ever known no matter what their race has been they have basically wanted the same thing out of life. I have done a lot of things I wish I wouldn't have and am not proud of. But I can say that I am glad none of them have to do with race. Or how I treated anyone over their race. AMERICANS NEED TO WAKE UP AND REALIZE THERE ARE ENOUGH COUNTRIES THAT DISLIKE US WITHOUT US HATING EACH OTHER FOR A STUPID THING LIKE RACE OR CULTURAL DIFFERENCES. This is all just my opinion which doesn't mean crap.
 
Excellent post. Its difficult for EVERYONE today. I come from an extensive line of civil servants. Law Enforcement and Fire/Rescue runs in my family. To see the events unfold over the last few days has damaged my soul right down to the core. Hatred is everywhere, and there is no end in sight as long as we continue to allow ourselves to be divided as a Nation. Its enough to make you want to quit life, shut down ALL your electronics and go move up into the mountains forever.

I love this board and Canes Nation because here we can escape the horrors of whats really going on out there in the world... even if just for a few minutes. I hope everyone is safe today and like 3rd said... go out of your way to do something nice for a stranger. Start spreading love, not hate.
 
Prayers for everyone effected by all of these unthinkable events.
I am getting more concerned about the future of our country if we cannot figure out how to not simply coexist, but love each other as fellow human beings and as all of God's children and embrace those things that make us all different and unique.

Learn from it and dont repeat same mistakes..
Count each day as a blessing and appreciate the people around you for today..some of those may not be here tomorrow. Including yourself..
Life is too short to be filled with hate and retribution.
Love your family and each other...
Be honest with yourself and others...
Work hard.pay your bills and take responsibility for your actions and the impact you have on the people's lives around you..
Trust in God and enjoy the beautiful planet we all live on..
 
People don't allow your mind to be conditioned. We are all one. Call me cazy...I don't give a damn. Government trying to start a race war. Trying to find a way to declare Martial law. We need to come together more then ever. I went to bed feeling like they was going to say the gunmen was black. I wake up...the gunmen is black and said, he wanted to kill white people. #alllivesmatter love you guys.

Most people are good people .A small portion of maniacs can ruin things for everybody. With todays ability to publish snippets of video without context this kind of stuff is more likely to happen. The president and his justice dept are encouraging this despite the rhetoric they espouse. Cops who brutalize or kill without reason should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
But the problem runs deeper than that Too many men raised in fatherless families without a male role model . Lack of jobs with an artificially low wage scale because of the influx of illegal immigrants.Now cops are twitchy because of all the execution style murders by black BLM militants.. Its going to get worse before it gets better
 
Very sad what has happened but the only way to move forward is to think and act like you're already there regardless of it all.

3rd Cane, this is part of the master plan to divide and conquer, lets not try to explain and understand what's going on. I know because I lived it for over 15 years in the great Communist Country under the one and only Fidel, best friend with Obama.
 
None of this will turn out good. I was raised an Air Force brat, that being said, until I was around 14 I did not really have a clue what segregation was, When we moved back to fl I found out real quick what it was. The 60's and desegregation was a rough time for a lot of people. As God is my witness I don't want to have to go thru that again. But if something doesn't give on all side's, we as people are going to repeat history. If this were to happen it will be much worse this time around, I am getting to old for that, and I don't have any grandchildren yet but i pray that they do not have to experience this. I truly hope nobody has to, but I really fear for all our future's. Whether or not you believe in God, everybody needs to pray. It surely won't hurt.

Unfortunately, there are too many stupid, ignorant people that started the BS on here. Good thing Gary moved the thread to the lounge for those saying the cop killings were justified due to the two senseless killings earlier this week. Unreal.

You are a ignorant individual. To blame the Blm movement and the president is just stupidity on a massive scale. You and those who think like you are a major part of the problem. Good Post! People tend to run to their corner and defend who looks like them most or is like them the most but the truth is at the end of the day there isn't really a difference.
