Chubba Hubbard to the portal?

Triggered snowflakes. It’s a news network. Oh well. Bye! He should be denied unless he graduated. “Stand for it?” Just like people can’t be told when they can kneel, You can’t tell others what clothes to wear, especially for a news network.

With that said, each man has to choose his own priorities. If Chubba wants to transfer for this, I have no problem with it. If Chubba wants to speak out, I have no problem with that either. Coaches understand that everything they do has consequences...players too.

I agree all can have their own view and opinion. That being said do not be surprised if those with stark contrarian views on things choose not to be led by you. Coaches sell parents on being the “man” to lead their sons into adulthood while they are away from home. If your views are not aligned maybe they will choose a coach that is more socially aligned with your beliefs.

Rob,

You and Gundy belong on the same boat fishing in Lake Texoma. You consistently choose to minimize what’s going on in this world due to your own inner feelings about people who don’t look like you. Pffft!

You're right. These coaches can't pretend that their stance on social issues and political issues are their "right." They are selling something to these kids, and if they don't/can't align with the kids' values, they won't be coaching for long. So while they have a right to promote some political agenda, it's fair to expect some level of backlash from players who disagree.

So, if a kid is an underperforming player and wears a BLM shirt, can he be kicked off the team?

All great, so don’t go to that school.

I have a problem with NOW being micro analyzed for EVERYTHING we do. Thats BULLS%$T!
This kid shouldn't have anything to say about what T-shirt his coach wears!
It be stupid for the kid to quit and wastes a year because of this absurd stance.
Sorry

Ludicrous, this sets the precedent that views and opinions other than my own will not be tolerated. Horrible precedent since not everyone will agree on everything all the time. It’s one thing if a coach is racist and you don’t want to be a part of it, it’s another if he is conservative and wearing a shirt of a more more level news network.mTotal simp shit.

Universities are ruining our youth with this safe space, “no other views but those who agree with my views matter,” ideology.

Is he being kicked off the team because he sucks or because of his political views? Is it a public university or private university? I have a lot of questions. But, my comments above aren't going to change.

Setting aside all legal issues of a public/state employee taking action against a player for political reasons, if a coach at any school decides to kick a player off the team for being too political, that coach should expect consequences from other players and recruits.

As for Chubba, he's a man and he'll decide whether he wants to jeopardize a scholarship at OSU because he doesn't want to play for a guy who (for sake of argument only) has differing views that Chubbard considers extreme or offensive. Shouldn't Chubba be free to make that decision albeit with whatever consequences come with it? Whether he gets a waiver from NCAA is a different issue.

You know damn well that OAN isn’t “just another news network”! You and @advarkas can GTFOH with your bashing any post that seems like all races are equal, yet touting underhanded dog-whistle comments.
Another bigot unveiled! Dog whistle? These kids, parent, coaches, and street agents pimp these kids since they started playing ball. I have no sympathy for those with Athlete Privilege, white or black.

Never said he didn’t have the right. It’s a horrible precedent if the NCAA grants this without sitting a year (unless graduated) because as @majus12 said, this snowflake environment has made every minor thing an issue, even wearing a shirt from a news network.

Oh, boo f-ing hoo for Mike Gundy.

Way back, some people considered the fact that Randy Shannon is black was an asset for him in relating to players and attracting Miami kids when he was HC. That's cool. Recruits got to choose what was important to them. What happens if Orgeron wears a BLM hat and Saban wears a MAGA hat? Once the info is out there, the market has a way of sorting these things out. Smart coaches know how to stay out of these issues and/or lead on these issues.

LOL @ “Another bigot unveiled”. I’m the furthest from that. My multi-cultured friends and family will tell you that.

I have no concern or care for your “athlete privilege” stance. Closed minded, but that’s you.

We have a president (regardless of party) who promotes racial divide. THAT’S my issue. And sorry to say, but anyone who promotes those views is hoping “no change occurs”. You, my friend, promote those views.

If you want to comment about me “not knowing” you, then don’t be so willing to be transparent in a public forum.

It's minor to you because it fits your agenda along with some others on this board. We are tired of sitting silent and not speaking up with what we perceive as wrong. You don't have to agree, that is your right. He doesn't have to be silent, that is his right.

Sorry

who says he has to wait a year??? He can enter the supplemental draft in August and teams will be drooling for him. Easily will command a first or second round pick in supplemental draft for him.

This kid has tons of leverage. Was rated #1 or 2 RB for 2021 draft. 2,000+ yards this past year.

You’re clearly triggered just like that football player. It is a news network T-shirt. Coaches are permitted to wear it and it is completely irrelevant to the current issues at hand. People are not obligated to submit to liberal neo-fascist far left mainstream media networks and be forced into uniformity of thought, speech, and conduct like many low IQ sheep are nowadays.

The football player has a right to be a snowflake in his beliefs and to play for another football coach who doesn’t wear that T-shirt, and Gundy has the right to tell that player to kick rocks and GTFOH.

He can declare for supplemental draft in August. Does not even have to come back..

let Gundy do that and see how far it gets him. he won't have anyone playing or coaching for him.

it's a news network shirt that preaches hate.

nobody is forcing anyone to believe anything. if you don't think some things are seriously wrong with our police and justice system then the joke is on you.

i voted for Trump and i'm tired of his shit when it comes to social issues. he's done absolutely nothing when it comes to showing leadership after the Floyd killing.

it seems some people just don't ****ing get it.

people can have far right beliefs still if they want, and they deserve all the backlash that they get.

people can be conservative and not be racist assholes and minimize everything.

Here's the number one racist on the board. True to form.

canerob, no offense but you are looking like a complete asshole with some of your posts.

you minimize everything and call people snowflakes. this racist shit has to end.

There is nothing racist about wearing an OAN t-shirt. Only neo-fascist liberals who demand uniformity of thought, speech, and conduct racialize everything in society such as calling an OAN t-shirt. The player should be allowed to freely transfer, and Gundy should be allowed to continue wearing any news t-shirt he wants, whether it is OAN, Fox, CNN, or MSNBC.

You’re entitled to your opinion about a particular news network, just like the player. Doesn’t mean Gundy has to agree and summarily conform. Neo-fascists liberals love to call everyone racist who disagree with them while demanding uniformity of thought, speech, and conduct. Liberals have been manipulating blacks like pawns on the political chess board for 50 years. Either low IQ sheep mentality or minorities, are their preferred targets. Time to get woke alright!

They won't give that as the reason, but yeah actually he can have his schollie NOT be renewed. Happens all the time. Not a good look, but make no mistake about it players are "encouraged" to leave all the time

@advarkas, how many Trump-terms can you add to your posts? And I’m “low IQ”? YOU GTFOH with that crap.

It’s closed minded fools like you who can’t distinguish between a non-political beliefs and politics.

To be honest..that’s how conservatives or libertarians feel about all Liberal News outlets. msnbc is inciting half the bullshit going in now. And it’s not the BLM stirring the pot it’s Antifa.
they are using BLM and people sympathetic to its cause and using it for their political gain.
They are getting paid to be agitators. And still others are doing it for personal gain. To loot and shit. It’s been expressed by many a “protester”
Look at the CHAZ idiots. They shouted that walls were racist—first thing they do is build barriers and won’t let in anyone they don’t like.
Guns? Their ironic motto of “Only Police should have guns”... No one needs an AR. Etc. what do we see? “Security” toting ARs. They stop and search people randomly. Want to see ID on demand. Search personal belongings. Crimes against women are taking place. It’s literally everything they complained about the last few years since Trump got elected. Again ironic that libs had pushed a lot of the same agenda that Trump is but hey that’s how they operate. Remember the kids in cages at the border. Put there for their own protection because they were unescorted minors and there was a problem of abuse. BUT the program (and the photos taken) were done so under the Obama admin. Only when Trump became president did it all the sudden become an issue. Now tell me who are the ****ing racists. They don’t bat an eye when terrible act is taking place—but when it can be used politically? Then that’s what matters. That is racist and hypocritical.
like I said. There are deep pockets within the deep state and they’re playing all of like pawns in the game.

Another low IQ, fake news deflection comment. Gundy is entitled to wear a news network t-shirt regardless of whether it is either conservative or liberal, and the player is entitled to have his opinion. If the player is a snowflake and doesn’t like it then he both can and should transfer to another school for another coach - preferably one where safe spaces are prevalent. Simple!

Gundy has the right to wear any shirt he pleases, whether it's an OAN or an Al Jazeera America t-shirt. If Hubbard doesn't like his coach's political views he can scream from the mountaintops and tell like minded players and prospects to stay away from OSU. I'm sure it will also attract players to OSU that share Gundy's views. All of it falls under Amendment 1, and everyone should be ok with it.
