It appears that several NFL draft gurus have predicted that the Colts will be very interested in drafting Dalvin Cook. One "expert" even said that Frank Gore will not be effective in the near future.

I found this comment interesting, though it might be true, considering that in the past two years playing in Indy, Gore's yards per carry, and rushing yards per game, have gone down from his levels in San Francisco. But it is also true that his yards from scrimmage have not gone down at all. In fact, playing with an excellent quarterback like Andrew Luck, Gore has actually more than doubled his receptions and yards gained receiving over the previous two years playing in San Fran. In addition, last year, he had as many touchdowns receiving as he did rushing.

Gore had well over 1300 yards from scrimmage in 2016 which made him one of the top backs in the league. While he is likely approaching the twilight of his career, he is still in the top half dozen productive running backs in the NFL.

It will be interesting to see what Indy does, especially considering that Cook has also proved himself to be an excellent pass receiver.
