If he is going to leave Texas after 2 years, it's because he doesn't see a good end to things there, and/or doesn't like it. To that point, this greatly reduces the importance of the money side of things when making this decision. Much like when Al wanted to go to PSU, he wasn't leaving for money, he was leaving for other motivators. Charlie makes what $5M at Texas? Pretty sure Miami can put a package together in the $3.5-$4M range (no state income tax) and Charlie would surely take a pay cut to be happy in a place he feels he can have great success. IF Strong is interested he knows what the Miami job entails and is okay with some of the issues, and money will not be a factor.

It's like when Harbaugh left the NFL to go to Michigan, a lot of NFL experts said no way, but to Jim it wasn't about money (although he got very well compensated), or NFL status. Jim left because to Jim he wanted to go somewhere that he felt comfortable, could be happy and win.

There are a bunch of reasons why Charlie could/should stay at Texas, and the media will put those all out there for you to read, but it only takes 1 reason to leave for Miami and ultimately if that reason (happiness/feeling comfortable) is Charlie's #1 motivator, then money, status, fan support, etc. mean very little, and the decision to leave won't be that hard...
