It was Mario or Manny
2 local guys, 2 guys that understand the culture etc
If I had to pick one I would have picked Mario because he is further along in terms of experience and seasoning, etc. he has paid his dues and been schooled well. I think he will be very successful at Oregon
If you wan to catch Clemson and Bama in a few years I thought he was a notich up the ladder
I am shocked at how little consideration Blake clearly gave him
That said, Manny has blossomed as a coach here the past 3 years
He is an extremely intelligent guy
He played his hand perfectly here
He grew up the son of a politician and he knows how to move
Is it a risky hire. Hell yeah.
Blake bet the farm here. This is a real inexperienced staff that is set up to have a real hard time
But they are all real good dudes and now you have to align behind them and hope they can overcome any deficiencies in experience etc the way say a Dabo did at Clemson
