I'm on record as saying I like Lashley. I think he's a good young OC (though not great and certainly not elite like some people talk about him here). But to get a little momentum on that first series, and then run on 2nd and long, get nothing, then run again on 3rd and long? Punt, and we follow that up with running on 1st down, get nothing, then run again on 2nd and 10 and get nothing again? We're down 3 scores before we even give King a chance to keep us in the game?
Anyone with a brain knew our only chance to hang in this game was to create a shooutout with our experienced and talented offense. And that's what we came up with after an offseason to prepare...we think we're going to just line up and run it on Bama's D? OK. Let's see who watches that film and is still drooling over a Lashley hire.
