If we were to do what many believe Texas A&M did, namely buy the #1 recruiting class, there would be such an uproar CFB wouldn't stand for it. If UM signed the #1 class and it later came out that 7 or 8 5-star recruits received record-breaking NIL deals there would be special congressional hearings to change the system. It's a bit hyperbolic and I'm not saying TAM did that necessarily, but UM is viewed differently than every other program in the country.
