Hello, Caniacs….
This is a heads up to let U know I’m cutting back on the number of games I’ll be covering for the remainder of the season.
As with most series, coverage basically kills Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. I’ve been doing this for 6-8 years or and last weekend’s games vs UNC took 10 hours of my time and overall, the total hours spent have not been fair to my bride.
Some think I’m a CS employee but I’m not. Gary has kindly offered and he's been very supportive, but I do it for the love of Canes baseball and U guys As a former journalist, I love to write and this has been good therapy for me.
So, I’m not going away completely. I just need to recalibrate and reduce the workload.
Moving forward, I will do my best to set up a game thread so U have something to follow. While I will approach each series on a case-by-case basis, I hope to cover as much as I can of say, UVA, FSU and post-season games as possible.
In closing, I greatly appreciate all the kind words and support and feedback U have given me and the game threads along the way. They grew in popularity (1K+ visits/game was not uncommon), not because of me, but because of U and our shared interest and love of Hurricanes baseball.
Thank U for everything. I'll be back soon for Game 1 vs Duke (it's an early start tonight, 6 pm).
As always, It’s great to be…
Go Canes!
