I lived there for 28 of the first 32 years of my life and it is a great city. That said I like so many others have left for far greener pastures in Texas and now Florida. When we left for Texas we made 10% less money but had more take home pay because of the taxes imposed, not to mention the cost of living being substantially lower. The problem is that middle class voters have been chased out of these cities by brutal income and property taxes and gang violence and the remnants of the city are even more virulently leftist. Just 12 years ago Richie Daly was mayor and by today's standards he may as well be Ronald Reagan. Now lesbian Beetlejuice is running the city into the ground and all of them are praying that Biden gets elected and lavishes them with a huge federal bailout. Let's hope that doesn't happen and they have to deal with their poor governance.

The Hollywood elite raised 35 million to bail out prisoners from the riots and looting. Amongst those they bailed out is a 2 time rapist and the bail amount was 350K CASH. Let that sink in.
Crooked ones. This is how it goes down in dirty cities. Long as their new found cops play ball with the criminals and politicians (basically turn a blind eye to everything) they’ll be compensated in a multitude of ways. This is the cities way of saying they want their kind of cops. Think of it in terms of a third world country. Plenty of shady opportunists lined up to replace the guys that are quitting. Trust me when I say these crooked cops will make far more under the table after the defunding than they were before as legit cops.
