Separated by an imaginary border 2 different policies. In Bristol, VA everything must close 10 PM with their Democrat leader. Literally you walk across the street 50 Ft and in Bristol, Tenn everything open till 3 AM. Needless to say the bars and restaurants are thriving in Tennessee and in Virginia, not so much. This of course is at a time where cases are way down and vaccines way up. Just shows the difference in parties and policies.

COVID always knew the difference between grocery stores, gyms, and restaurants, just like it can differentiate between imaginary state lines. Come on man!

Texas Republican politicians would agree wholeheartedly. What a disaster they created in the long horn state.

Lol...lol

You mean the once in a lifetime FREAK winter event created right?
Exactly ... people have such a dire need to blame , that it completely skews their view of reality ... I find it interesting how the people w/ the most faults are the quickest to blame .. always been that way and will always be that way .. should be mandated that we all go to therapy at this point ... CD wrong and Raoul need to go 1st 💯💯

The problem in this country, and probably around the world, is that people NEED and CRAVE a scapegoat to blame for the incomprehensible. Whether it be a terrible hurricane, winter storm, pandemic, they need to blame some one in order to cope I guess. Surely we can all agree to take a look back and make improvements in how we deal with these awful events but no human can be 100% perfect in their response. It is IMPOSSIBLE!

Please explain why you would start a thread blaming Democrats for failed policies during the pandemic but ask for kumbaya in this post?

What I did in this post was to show the differing policies of 2 towns side by side run by 2 different parties and how the side only open till 10:00 PM is suffering compared to the other. If you don’t know Bristol , Va and Tennessee you literally walk across the street and enter the other State and city. I most certainly do think these policies are indiscriminate and in a situation like this it is made even worse when all you have to do is cross the street.

Too logical of an explanation for certain posters to comprehend

More importantly why would you post about Texas and not comment on the subject at hand?

I was using the Texas situation as an analogy to show the hypocrisy of your opening post. You suggested Democratic run cities where poorly run when it comes to managing the virus because of their party affiliation. Using your twisted logic, the state of Texas poor handling of the lead up to the power outage is representative of how all Republican run states would fair in similar situations. Do you get it now?

I have the solution. The Republican run city should adhere to CDC guidelines and shutdown at 10 pm.

Analogy? No, a defection.

This ain't complicated for most of us.

noun - Analogy
  1. a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification.
"an analogy between the workings of nature and those of human societies"
    • a correspondence or partial similarity.
"the syndrome is called deep dysgraphia because of its analogy to deep dyslexia"
    • a thing which is comparable to something else in significant respects.
"works of art were seen as an analogy for works of nature"
