The answer is NO doofus. Yes @wcoll95 you're a doofus because the answer is not a simple yes or no. It doesn't prevent covid everyone knows that by now. Surgeon General of our state can't just answer no. They still want people to take it so they have less of a chance of severe illness.
As for Senator Book she really need not take the moral high ground when she's embroiled in a situation where some dude release the naked pics of her from her phone. Who the F*** has naked pics of themselves on their phone? Only a freak

So asking a surgeon general nominee if you are an advocate for the best preventive measures we have during a global pandemic is taking a moral high ground? Dude took a oath to do no harm. He is obligated to say if he knows something is beneficial or effective. You would be hard pressed to find a UM doctor who would have not advocated the benefits of a COVID vaccine.

His problem is he was less than forthcoming on basic medical consensus for political reasons and being connected to Dsantis. In truth you can not even call it a vaccine, by it's definition. That the Surg. Gen of Florida took his time and answered the question "smartly" should tip you off that the question WAS political and NOT purely medical. Before calling him inept, you should explore WHY a highly Educated man, as himself, would answer a question in that way. If your a Dr. I'm shocked you couldn't recognize the political origin of the question, considering the LACK of fundamental medical investigation into the causative agents that took a zoonotic infection into a pandemic, as well as, the lack of effectiveness of the covid vaccine to BLOCK infection, thus failing to stimulate the body's immune response into recognizing the covid antigen and completely eradicating it from the body. just to name a few fundamental reasons.
If your not a Dr. please read up on the immune response and vaccinia virus and vaccination. I recommend Guyton physiology as a good start. It's well written, Compleat, and easy to read. While his oratory skills might not be to the standard of a slick politician his answer is FAR DEEPER than any of those politicians could possibly understand. Lets not forget WE WERE TOLD that once the country was 75-80% vaccinated we would reach some sort of HERD IMMUNITY and life as we once knew it could then return. Dude, the CDC is a group respected physicians that are charged with setting a national policy for diseases. That represents a medical consensus. The vaccine is NOT a force field around your body but it is effective. From CDC:

LOL The CDC is a governing organization. Where do you get the CDC establishes any kind of consensus? We physicians report and inform to the CDC, so that "we" as a whole can better understand and treat disease, but the CDC is independent as to it's recommendations. The CDC, same one of which it's leaders have retired to lateral positions, is a governing body, it's the Physicians that form a consensus.

The CD collects information, manipulate pathogens "to better understand them", and has and sends investigators, but it's the IRB that grants, receives, and certifies All Research, and it's DR's in hospitals and in privet practice that report community findings and alert the CDC of problems and findings within the communities we serve.

But to represent that the CDC, hundreds of doctors in all media outlets at this point and my personal doctor have not advocated for getting a vaccine strains all credulity.
