Not to stoke the fire, but it appears that Trump is going to sign an executive order to keep families together.

Man, it’s almost like there have been people on this board who have stated the past couple of days that Trump did in fact have the executive authority to do something about this issue.

In all seriousness though, kudos to Trump for taking action. We can be tough on immigration and be empathetic at the same time. I personally hope the more moderate of the two immigration bills gets passed tomorrow so we can start a joint solution to fix this immigration dilemma.

It’s not that he doesn’t but congressional passage is a sure fire way to keep this from being fought in the courts forever. Why there are people on both parties against this is just stupid.

The point is Clyde that what he is signing is illegal. The courts can stop this based on law but will they.

There needs to be a fix in the laws in this country when it comes to immigration policy and this just take Congress of the hook from doing their job.

If there has to be a Executive Order put into place I would do what Obama was doing and keep the families together while waiting for the hearing and see what the courts do this time. They already ruled against it twice.

Completely agree. Executive Orders are not as strong on such a vital issue. Executive Orders can change with the next political fight....but it is better than nothing. Although we agree that isn't really good enough if we are being completely honest.

Tweak it a bit. Give the courts a new wrinkle to think about. I think that's what we'll see when it is announced later.

This is generally an issue historically both sides have agreed on. We want to protect our borders but do it safely and economically where it makes sense. Housing a lot of people gets expensive in a hurry just to make a point.
