Its always interesting to hear people's expectations or disappointment after the fact even though the same ones knew the reality going in. It's like being poor, knowing you are poor but yet being upset on christmas morning that there isnt a 200k sports car in the driveway. It makes no sense. We have an OL with 2 freshmen OT, a center with no experience and a sophomore guard. A freshmen QB a new OC, entire new offensive staff and yet most of the board is losing it that we didnt put up 500 yds and 40 points against a defense with 2 potential #1 picks at DE and another one at CB. We scored 20 points. The QB, in spite of being sacked 10x (probably 1/2 he should have dumped it off or thrown it away), completed 65% of his passes for 200 yards and a TD with no ints. Think back to last year, whether it was LSU, Wisconsin, Va, BC, GT, or Duke. Do you think we are moving in a better direction now or do you think last year was better? Give it time. Our OL will improve.
Remember our team in 99 losing to Eastern Carolina? Remember getting beat 41-3 at Va tech? How many all pros and hall of famers were on that Miami team?
Williams will learn to get rid of the ball quicker. The penalties will get cleaned up. Enos will continue to install his offense and pretty soon the first drive will be the norm. I predict by the end of the year things will be much different. In fact I predict we will give Clemson a game. Success takes time. Wait for it.
