1) Grow thick skin, you’re basically the step father taking over and you have huge steps to fill. Sorry but comes with the territory. You guys signed up for this and now you have a HUGE chance to make your name on a national scene.
2) treat your predecessor as an inspiration and not competition. Gary’s a 40 year vet and the best in the business. You can’t compete with that out of the gate. Talk to him in a humble manner and see what you can pick up from him. I promise you he’s not intimidated by you and you shouldn’t be by him. Learn from him. You could very well have a higher ceiling than him. Right now, you’re nothing, sorry. It is what it is. No one knows you.
3) don’t overcompensate for being young. I started out in the business world at a young age too (albeit not as young as you guys) and worst of all looked even younger than I really was. People were relentless. I was and am still in the people business too which just made even it harder back in the day when I was young. Thank god i’m not any more but still. Trust me, things do get easier as you get older but keep in mind that theres a reason for that. I can sympathize. Just stay humble, hungry and out work everyone and don’t sell out your honesty for anything. That’s all it takes is one time and your credibility is ****ed.
4) you’re a millennial, so every generation hates you for being the exact opposite of what they were. People that were patient and worked their asses off to get what they got. Nobody is going to give you shit. The only way you’re going to build any credibility is by getting out from behind your computer and pounding the pavement the way matt and gary still are starting at 5am. You have to put the work in and put you’re faces on the site the way matt and gary do good morning canesport every day. Not just do it but do jt with conviction like you give a shit and aren’t just mailing it in for a check. Fair or not that perception is what you’re up against.
Just when you think that’s enough those old dogs are coming up with crazy new shit like goats. I watched your version of goodmorning canesport and you guys look like you need a b12 shot or at the least a tequila shot. It’s like watching an academic seminar by the guy from faris beuler. You’re fans, not robots, act like you’re human beings. Be human beings! Nobody is goi g to tune into you guys boring us to death with the info that we already have when you lay it out the way you do. It reminds me of the scene from mrs doubt fire with the old guy talking about dinosaurs. Take a page from the movie mrs doubtfire, no one is going to watch that shit.
5) let you’re subscribers know who you are and get in the muck with us. Post, respond. Don’t hold back. It’s your site so what you say goes, you don’t have to put up with shit. If someone takes it too far, ban! You run this show and you better be able to hold your own, so study up and bring the funk.
btw, please change the name canescounty to something like sebastionspipe or Green tree word or something that’s not so generic.
