Gary, Recruiting Analyst's Predictions

I've noticed that here on Rivals, as well as in Rivals' competitors, the national recruiting "analysts" have a lot of bias against, or disdain, for Miami's chances of landing some of these top players. Frankly, I've made up my mind not to spend much time reading their predictions and what they have to say about a recruiting battle. Every time I was looking at these so-called analysis of a recruit's top favorites, they were always rating Miami's chances the worst of the bunch. It's like they are incapable of acknowledging that things are any different for Miami under Mario than the last 5 incompetent administrations. For them, It's always Alabama, Georgia, Ohio St., Notre Dame, Clemson, even Oklahoma, now LSU, and take your pick X-SEC school (Texas A&M is the new flavor of the year) who is going to win out on a kid head-to-head.

In a way it is understandable because that's the way it's been for the last 2 decades, and when it comes to A&M they did have a helacious recruiting haul last year.

But not only are they not capable of giving Mario some credit, but they are incapable of understanding how much the UM administration's willingness to put money into the program, and especially the degree to which NIL has evened the playing field into their calculations. Not even Mario pulling Citizen, Moss, Skinner, and Kelly away from these other powers in just a few weeks has impressed them in the least. In addition, they don't understand that Mario plays the long game. He develops relationships, brings the kids in on unofficials, spends months wooing the parents, builds his priority boards, brings them in for officials, then works on closing. These recruiting "analysts" are all about how many commits are in the fold now.

Well, I think they are in for a shock next signing dates. I don't think that Mario is going to win every local recruiting battle, but I think he's going to win his fair share, AND, he's going to flip some of those local kids who are currently committed to the sacred cows whose ass they kiss so much.

Man, I love your personal analysis and your content; a Ferman opinion piece is always going to be great reading; but frankly, all these Rivals National recruiting analysts, as well as everybody else's, are full of crap. I mean it's no different really than the voters who vote on the AP, and Coaches' Top 25 before the beginning of the season. They automatically plug in all the same teams without any real analysis, just out of sheer robotic habit!

And by the way, I've been telling my friends, this Cristobal staff is built not just for recruiting but for FINISHING! My impression is that this staff is going to be VERY TOUGH to say NO to! The focus is to get them in the door, because when it's time to finish, these guys are going to be hard to beat. Exhibit A is this portal DT they just took away from Florida. If Miami gets them in the door with their "process", LOOK OUT!!
