there is really NOTHING Manny can do To truly fix this . he will have to basically blow up his staff Larry Coker style and start fresh. Only coach to keep would be Fields and prob baker as a position coach primary for their recruiting ability. He will have to find 2 elite Coordinators willing to come here and staff of good/great assistants that are also great recruiters. Would need the admin to Go ALLIN like Clemson did with Dabo. We would also need a lot of bagmen.

We have a HC who is not a recruiter and never was. He talks BIG but his results , even as a DC, are mostly puppy results against true big dogs. He has not shown the ability to develop elite players. Like @gferman said, nobody is UNDERPERFORMING their resume. Basically they are who they are and were when they hired. Which is what I said back in MARCH and why I was so mad and frustrated when he made these hires.

We have prob 1coach that can develop talent in Rumph but he is a HUGE ,IM TALKING HUGE liability in recruiting. Our staff is really a MAC and Mountain west type staff. I would say AAC but there are AAC staffs better than ours. Go look at Memphis staff under Norvell. Look at their staffs experience and then judge that same staff to ours.
We have avg coaches that can not develop above avg players to good players into elite players. Our elite recruits are becoming jags even after being in the program 2-4 yrs. can’t say well manny was only the DC he didn’t control the offense but look at his D. Look at his SR linebackers. The 2 starters are playing avg to below avg and the most talented one can’t get on the field and is looking to redshirt. our offense scheme is antiquated/dated. I mean we are down 28pts and this dude STILL has us HUDDLING. I won’t even get into formations and personnel groupings smh
We are getting out coached on both sides of the field. Va techs OC just ate our OCs lunch and said hold my beer. I get the almost 600 yards. That just shows how talented we truly are on offense. Imagine if we had a REAL OC who called a uptempo spread offense, not air raid but spread.
Va tech gave up over 400+ yards of O to BC and Duke, 2 run dominate teams this yr. I mean duke and cutcliffe are running the Paul Johnson option this yr lol! Va tech took a 3rd yr( RS So) QB who only attempted 2 passes and designed a GREAT gameplan around him, especially in the redzone. Our OC gets in the redzone and goes completely catatonic. Our best wr who would STAR on teams like Okla or Ohio st or even Clemson playing their “2” WR position is being labeled a jag here until the BU QB gets in and shows us that hey with an arm that can put the ball out there Jeff could be a elite performer.
This is BAD I mean BAD. We don’t have the recruiters that can get us the Elite talent to make up for the avg- below avg coaching. We have avg-below avg coaching so the players we do get won’t be coached up to perform at good-elite levels. We have nobody pushing our starters do to bad recruiting and development. We are not finding creative ways to get the ball into our best players hands. We have “ Rudy” and the converted “QB” seeing more snaps than our highly rated players.
I feel the same way I felt before Richt retired and the year before Golden was fired. I feel like our Admin doesn’t care , our BOT don’t care so why should I
