How do you nominate someone for a lifetime appointment to the bench who has never tried a case?

Sadly these nominations aren't down to a particular political party - they are a result of political appointment kickbacks for campaign supporters and financial bundlers. Who could forget McCain grilling a couple of Obama nominees who were up for Ambassador to Norway and Argentina and didn't have a clue about either country. This is just an extension of that and needs to stop.

Exactly, both parties have had their share of embarrassing moments due to lobbyists.

An ambassador does not get lifetime appointment and appointments have pretty much always been used as political currency.

Whatever the political views or connections of a nominee for an Article II federal judge, there is a base level of qualification that has always been there.

This is fundamentally differently. Never tried a case. Never argued a motion. Never conducted a deposition. Couldn't explain a Motion in Limine. Couldn't explain the Daubert standard. This is not someone who went to lawschool....and yet, this administration thought this person would make a good federal judge?

A total embarassment. No matter your political affiliation.

Those aren't life time appointments bro.

Same swamp nonsense nonetheless. People doing favors or making big campaign contributions getting and getting jobs they are not qualified for.

There is money in politics. I get that. You are going to have to repay favors but this is unprecedented. Lifetime appointments are not given out like candy. Me or you can be ambassador somewhere i'm sure...lol. That's not what I am referring to. These are serious jobs that affect a lot of lives seriously for a long time.

Headline states: President Obama is making a mockery of Ambassador posts!! So once again it’s not only the right, Fox News or anyone else you don’t like. This widespread BS. And since when has anyone considered an Ambassador a “serious position”?? It has been and always will be a joke of a job.

If so important why didn’t Hillary and Obama protect Ambassador Stevens and his staff?

Trying to compare a lifetime appointment to the bench and an ambassadorship is like trying to compare a job playing for the D league and the Lakers.....lmao

For sure, however in this case I’ll do you a favor and explain to you. As discussed above the topic switched to ambassador roles. So keep up with thread and save the comments that take away the little credibility you have left.
