To be serious for a moment, do viewers actually take him seriously? All politics aside, he comes across to me as a huckster. Is that an unreasonable take?

Sadly, I guess, there’s near zero political diversity in my extended family. Dined with 20 for Thanksgiving and a different 10 for Xmas this coming weekend. Three generations across many age groups. Enthusiasm for Biden (or Newsom) is tepid. But, there was zero discussion of Trump (or his followers). Complete hatred for him is so deep and profound that it’s an unspoken assumption. No need to mention it because their are no defenders of him in the room. No conflict whatsoever.

By ”followers”, I meant other politicians who hew to Trump’s line, not the voters. Should have been more clear.
As to Biden, I don’t believe that there are many followers of him. He was a middle of the road alternative to Trump. His voters are respectful but not adoring of him. Other politicians are (distressingly) not following his middle course.
