I've enjoyed the off-season. There's been a few downs, a few negatives, but MOSTLY POSITIVITY.
We've seen a lot on the practice field; we've heard a lot on the radio; and we've read a lot about this team through the continued EXCELLENCE of Gary, Matt, and the rest of the Canesport staff who have served this fans base well through their tireless efforts. We've learned a FEW THINGS about this TEAM, but in my opinion, it takes about 3-5 weeks to "get a feel" for how the ENTIRE 2015 Season will finish.
In my opinion, THIS OFF-SEASON has brought about MAJOR DIVISIVENESS among the FAN BASE.... Many people, INCLUDING ME, support the firing of Al Golden and believe that he cannot win the Coastal Division to save his job... HOWEVER, some of you think OTHERWISE. Some of you either believe that Golden can in fact be the long-term successful head coach that many of us envisioned when Golden first arrived in Coral Gables, and some of you are simply SICK AND TIRED of the CONSTANT CRITICISM of the coaching staff. FAIR ENOUGH, and EVEN I will admit that at many times I have taken an overly-aggressive approach to criticizing this coaching staff.
There are SEVERAL POSTERS on this Board with whom I have had an unpleasant experience regarding Hurricane Football. Board conversations, at times, have unfortunately escalated to a personal level, which is almost always an UGLY LEVEL...
To those posters and Canesport Board Members, I APOLOGIZE; to ForeverCane, jabazz, tonnyhurricane, and , among others, I APOLOGIZE for the times in which my conduct was inappropriate, excessive in nature, and perhaps more importantly, personal and irrelevant to the overall discussion of the topic. Tonight I came home from work, walked my dog, and reflected on a few things, and felt it was appropriate to articulate this apology. Although I understand that you all may not harbor the same sentiments, and may continue to disagree with me, and to some extent RESENT ME, I still offer this thread an olive branch.
The season is about to start, and we shift from the summer to fall, it is important to give these players our support. I believe that whatever feelings we harbor towards Golden, good OR bad, we have to set aside those feelings and simply show up, support the players, show some energy...
