On a podcast I just listened to. On why Miami can't get some of the top local kids to stay home. He said Miami won't offer them and gave a few examples of kids who wanted to go to Miami. Devontae Freeman who Randy Shannon said was too small. Amari Cooper who Al Golden snubbed for Herb Waters just to name a few. He also said Miami doesn't or didn't have any coach on staff that had a track record of sending kids to the league. He said that Ed Reed was hired to placate the fanbase for not hiring Alonzo. They just stuck him in an office and don't ask him to do anything. This is probably true looking at his tweet from the other day. Coaches want to come to Miami but he said Manny wants to be the smartest guy in the room and won't hire anyone who he thinks knows more than him. Gary confirms this because he said just the other day that Manny surrounds himself with yes men. TIFIW.
