So kneeling at the alter of Wokeness the Cleveland Indians are changing their name to The Cleveland Guardians. How grossly insentitive to so many people. The term Guardian is often assigned to a court order that allows one person, usually an adult to be given control over another, many times a minor, elderly or impaired person. There are a significant number of these Guardians that abuse this state authorized power. In many cases abusing the person(s) they have guardianship over. Every day you can read a story about sexual, physical, mental, emotional or financial abuse of someone by their guardian. Doesn't Major League Baseball care about the feelings of innocent and vulnerable people and the horrors they have suffered and the hands of these Guardians?. Hopefully the democrat party will see this new group of agrieved and demand reversal of MLB's callous and insentitive naming. Those that have suffered from the abuse over their Guardian overlords need to be heard and respected!

But if you think about the term "Indians" its pretty messed up. 500 years ago Europeans arrived and thought the natives were from India. They knew within weeks that they were not from India and here we are 500 years later still calling them Indians. Louis C.K. has a funny skit on that.

I still don't think it necessarily warranted change but I sorta kinda get it. It's just pathetic to me how crappy of a name they landed on. They could have went back to the Spiders which is a solid name. Rocker's would have made sense with Rock n Roll HOF. Hell, Cleveland Baseball Team sounds better than The Guardians. I guess it is fitting that a lame town like Cleveland would wind up with a lame ass name.

The actual term Indian is messed up as described in my original post. Literally 500 years after realizing they’re not Indians, we’re still calling them that. Much different than our friends in Tallahassee where Seminoles is a specific tribe name and they do in fact find it an honor.
