Is it time for NRA SHEEPLE to demand NRA back assault weapons ban?

They do happen occasionally but not anywhere near as often as they happen here. Our homicide rates are 25 times higher than any other industrialized country. The only common thread between us and the rest of the world is that we have 300m firearms swimming around the country. Reduce that number and you will see a dramatic reduction in mass shootings.

???? Our homicide rates are 25 times higher than any other industrialized country????? Talk about making up stats. What are you calling "industrialized"? Limited to Western Europe? Include South America? Mexico? Central America?

-USA homicides per 100,000 inhabitants 4.9
-Sweden 1.1; Australia 1.0; Denmark 1.0 Norway .6; Switzerland .7; Austria .5
-The Socialist mecca of Venezuela (Bernie Sanders favorite) 89 homicides per 100,000
-Brazil (quite industrialized) 30 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants .. strict gun control
-Colombia .. very industrialized .. strict gun control 24 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants
-Argentina .. very industrialized and educated .. 6 homicides per 100,000.
-The Islands .. all very strict gun control (Bahamas 30; Belize 45; Trinidad / Tobago 28; Dominican Republic 22; St Lucia 22; Dominica 21)
-Puerto Rico 15
- Costa Rica 12
-Panama 10
-Bolivia 9
-Peru 8
-Guatemala 26
-Mexico 23
-Many African Nations 30
-Bahamas 30
-Jamaica 56
-El Salvador 60

The murder rate in the US might be 4-6 times that of Sweden - Austria ... but it is a fraction of the rate in the vast majority of countries in this hemisphere .. and most of those countries have very strict controls on ownership of firearms. Countries such as Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia are also very industrialized.

That should read homicide rates are 25 times higher than in other high income countries as of 2010. Places like Japan, South Korea, the UK, Germany etc. Places like Brazil, Mexico, African countries, central American countries etc are obviously in a different category.

I understand the the call for banning certain rifles, handguns, and/ / or certain weapons, I respect your stance on this. But, there is a bigger issue here. That little jack-ass would have found a way to kill those kids by any means necessary.

Not sure how this guy scored an AR-15 with his background of being a troubled kid.

Unfortunately it’s not a crime to get kicked out of school. He passed a back ground check because handn’t commited a crime.

You're right, I was going by some earlier reports of a possible "FBI watch list" and records of law enforcement responses to his residence. Kid defiantly was exhibiting alarming traits and supervision wasn't able put the puzzle together. I'll say it yet again, that was just a horrible day for me to see that play out on the news.

First .. the stats ARE incorrect. Sweden etc are roughly 1 per 100,000 .. so the US is 4 to 5 times higher than those countries. But one of the primary issues is the population .. the people who live in the countries. You say discount the high murder rates in Mexico, Central America, South America in comparison to the US. Well, just who is it that IS MOVING TO the USA .. over the last 30 year period the primary immigration has been from those countries .. and their values come with them. The primary issue is PEOPLE, mental health, assimilation into the US culture. The primary problem isn't "guns" (or knives, or car bombs, or hijacking airplanes), it is people, their mental health, and in some cases political motivation.

Our society has eroded due to the importation of votes which brought with them no value for human life and we’ve seen our traditions and way of life disrupted all so Democrats could replace the base they lost when they turned their backs on the middle class!

Again, if the primary issue is "People" then why don't other advanced countries have this problem ? Every country has people with mental health problems and yet this is the only advanced country where this happens on a regular basis. Any objective observer to this debate can't get around the fact that you can't have a country that is saturated with 300m firearms and then expect this sort of thing to not happen.

Also, this is not an "immigrants can't seem to assimilate into American culture" problem, since a vast majority of mass shootings are perpetrated by white males. You can review each of them in the spreadsheet below or just look at the stats graphic. This is simply a problem of a nation awash with firearms and politicians who are paralyzed into inaction by political funding from the NRA.

Classic blame white people!! That’s the exact reason you had white frames voting Trump! People tired of that false racial message. Can’t blame all white males for the Countries problems. And Cruz now a “white male”? Why not post real murder rate numbers?? Why cherry pick these which in most if not all these cases had mental midgets pulling the trigger. Real POS to make these statements. You are saying sane white males are the problem just come out and say it! And for the record I’ve never seen you or any of the other board Libs outrages over the crime and murder rates in Chicago! I wonder why! I’m not even “white” and posts and thinking like this piss me off!! Classic liberal finger pointing yet ignore the real problems! Classic coward liberal “blame white people” excuse! The backlash of that was Trump! Congrats for being a pussy and now having Trump as President

An AR-15 is not an assault rifle. Why do people continue to mix and match. An AR -15 is simply a semi auto rifle .. just like a Ruger 10-22 rifle. AR simply stands for "Armalite" the company that designed that style of rifle when they were bidding on a new military rifle .. that WAS an assault rifle .. and the assault rifle has a FIRE SELECTOR CAPABILITY (can fire semi auto .. one round per trigger pull; a switch can be set for a 3 shot burst .. one trigger pull and 3 shots fire simultaneously; or it can be set for full auto). Those rifles CANNOT be purchased simply by walking in off the street. They require a very special license, fees, waiting period, and background checks .. and are much more expensive. An "AR style rifle" is simply a semi auto and they are chambered in regular old .22 caliber, .223, .308 and a myriad of other calibers. You can't fire an AR 15 any faster than a Glock semi-auto pistol.

Exactly my point earlier in this thread. There is so much ignorance and misinformation about firearms from the left and gun ban supporters. Until they take the time to educate themselves there won’t be any progress.
