Simple fact Miami has enough 1st level talent to win these games convincingly and most games in the ACC
Fact is for the last 4 yrs we have been sluggish and looked unprepared for MOST GAMES under CMR and it has continued under Manny. It has not just been 1 side of the ball either. It has been the defense too, case in point FSU last yr.
It’s one thing to be sluggish and look undisciplined on offense but on defense too?! How come we can’t look like how Wisconsin looked against Mich this weekend on Defense. Clemson lost its entire starting front 4 and a couple back ups. They are starting 2 sophomores and a True FR on the front 4. I remember when we had a starting secondary of Ed Reed, Jamal Lewis, Phillip Buchanan and Mike Rumph. The next yr all those dudes left and we had all new faces and youth in Sean Taylor, Maurice Sikes , Antrel Rolle and Kelly Jennings and that secondary performed better than the one that left LOL!
What I mean is we have got to stop making excuses. We have an inexperienced staff learning on the job. It’s a shame we are here but we are.
Yes we have 2 FR on the oline that prob should just be in the 2 deep. We have an inexperienced Oline coach that spent 1 yr, Enos last yr, at C.Mich coaching Oline. He did not coach Eric Fisher he had already left and so did the Oline coach. I saw Sam Pittman UGA Oline coach when he 1st got to UGA because of the Oline mess by Richt move the 6-2 LG to LT, bring 2 back up DTs over from Defense and turn them into the starting Center and RT plus he started a FR. We have to stop making excuses.
Even though UNC lost 2 games we saw a experienced HC win his 1st 2 games with a team that only won 5 previously the last 2 seasons and look remarkably better prepared and more disciplined than us on offense with a True FR and on defense too. Stop making excuses.
We see an offensive system that limits your playmakers and puts ABSOLUTELY NO PRESSURE ON THE D after our HC told the media and EVERYBODY that he was going to have a OC that was aggressive , an offense that dictates to the Defense and that is cutting edge... WE SEE NONE OF THAT! Stop making excuses
We have a defense that has regressed and SR linebackers who were suppose to be a strength that , besides this last game, seemed to be missing or saving themselves for the draft. Recruiting mistakes and misses are hurting us not with just front line talent but depth. Manny said he wanted excellent recruiters but like @gferman said recruiting is not even being done right. Case in point like Gary said at the FLA game in Orlando were 2 of the states top Oline recruits who were “ Florida” invited recruits! Are u serious?! How are we not recruiting any Jucos for the Oline. Saban who recruits Oline at an elite level still recruits jucos on both lines but we are not recruiting jucos on either the offensive or defensive line. Some of our best players like McDougle and I think Andrew Williams, mckinnie and Shockley were Jucos.
Stop making excuses. We went into the transfer portal and got a high 4 star almost 5 star QB who is not even the back up. The Olinemen we got is not even in the 2 deep. The DE who will prob be a stud from UCLA barely plays and so does Hill from VaTech. Patches is a great guy but there is no way he should be starting over Greg or Hill.
