But I actually wouldnt hate the Coley OC and Strong DC combo. Gary talks about how Coley was handcuffed here as a recruiter, but his first year as OC with us he had Stephen Morris as his QB and we averaged only .3 pts less a game then we did this season, where we had a better QB and an offense that ran a lot of plays. Then his next 2 years he had Brad Kaaya as a freshman, who he identified as well. But for as good as Kaaya was as a thrower, the guy just never ran the ball at all which in todays football you have to have a little scrambling ability. He has experience calling plays and Mario can let him be the good recruiter he is. Is he my first choice? Absolutely not. Would I take him over someone like a Frank Ponce? Absolutely. As far as Strong goes, he's a proven DC and recruiter. Is he a great HC? Nope. But that's not what we are asking of him. Again, are these the first choices I would go after? No. But considering some of the names that have floated out there recently, I will take these 2 over a lot of them. Just my opinion.
