The Miami Herald was first to report that pitching coach J.D. Arteaga will be promoted as head coach for the Miami baseball team.

Is this the right move?

Not sure this thrills me as a hire. Coach Arteaga was a great Cane in his day, but our pitching is where the team has been weak over the past several years. Hiring the pitching coach as head coach is making me scratch my head. I guess we ran out of other options?

JD is a great guy. They rewarded him for being there for 21 years.

I'm with rweern about this. We haven't had great pitching for a long time. Not sure this will work out.
