Kylen Granson.

In 2016, he was a lowly TWO STAR 6'3 212 lb WR who committed to lowly RICE. Things didn't work out well at Rice- his Owls went 1-11 his Sophmore year in 2017, and SMU Head Coach Sonny Dykes accepted Granson as a walk-on transfer at SMU. Sonny turned to his young, smart, creative OC, Rhett Lashlee, and asked him what Rhett thought...? Rhett effectively said "let's bulk him up to around 230lb, and we'll use him as a TE in our Spread Offense concepts."

Granson worked his ass off during the 2018 season sitting out on the transfer, bought in to Sonny and Rhett, and turned himself from Kylen Granson the walk-on WR in 2017 into Kylen Granson the scholarship TE in 2019.

This year Kylen Granson, that same lowly TWO STAR WR at 1-11 Rice, started at TE for my SMU Mustangs, and had a breakout season in Sonny and Rhett's Spread Offense, accumulating 44 receptions, 727 receiving yards and 9 TDs, helping SMU to a #15 8-0 start and overall 10-3 record, winning the most improved player award, and becoming both a player and fan favorite.

That same Kylen Granson... Had 200 yards MORE than Miami's leading WR, K.J. Osborne.

COACHING.
