I went back and watched their games against UVA, BC & Clemson. My original idea was to chart all of this out for some big post but as I got into game footage I realized a few things and came away very unimpressed with them. Their close game wins were more a product of the other team making very careless mistakes and horrible timing.
UL does do a good job at not really showing a consistency in any one area. They rely heavily on the run game to the perimeter because they feel they have a speed advantage over most team, which they do. Their inside zone game has benefited them too.
With all that being said we will be the best upfront they have played on the DL. We will also be able to run the ball against them. They are horrendous at cover an in-line TE and also bunch sets (gasp) which tells me they don’t do a very good job communicating coverages on the back end.
We can manipulate our alignments on defense to give them a lot of problems in the run game too.
If we come to play and don’t make stupid mistakes we should win this game going away.
