This isn't really meant as an indictment of the staff. But my question is; are these the guys that Manny really wanted, or are these the guys he could get?
Manny had been an assistant and DC for a while with mixed to good results. But still, he was relatively inexperienced for coming into a big-time HC job. I look at his staff and for the vast majority, he has folks who have about the same or less experience. As a first time HC with his experience, I have to wonder why he didn't seek out more seasoned folks. Not just for position coaching acumen, but some guys who have seen it all, some guys who when things are turning to chit he can lean on and get good input on what the next move is. A great leader doesn't have all the ideas, he gets all the ideas on the table. I don't think Manny has that kind of staff, I feel like he has a staff that leaves it all on him.
