I am not sure how much of keeping it in the family Mario will do, but just imagine players like Ed Reed who has a desire to coach or Ken Dorsey who should have been given a chance to be the OC by now can finally have a place where they can develop their coaching evaluating and recruiting skills.
Do we bring back Michael Barrow at LB? Do we bring back Ed Orgeron at DL? No recruit's dad or older brother is saying no to an in home visit from these Alpha Males. Their dad's want to be them or be like them which is the exact moment their kids commit, because they finally get to see their dad's act weird in a good way bonding with these type of guys.
Mario gets to start a coaching tree that will be filled at the top level by the best of the best and the coaches coming after them will be hungry for their chance to leave their mark in coaching at the highest level.
Switching gears to the ACC outlook
If the ACC is down next year like it was this year then my expectations are we should win the Coastal at least. My expectations are through the roof in the ACC because Clemson is down and coaches are leaving, but that is still a dangerous team loaded with talent from top to bottom. FSU is FSU and they will play us hard no matter what.
Final thought recruiting
Florida should get a recruiting bump because of their new coach, but not like the recruiting bump we are about to receive. Clemson's recruits are vulnerable because of all the coaching attrition that is happening there today. Who was the OL from South Florida who chose Clemson over Miami in 2020? Watch for him to jump in the portal because of Cristobal.
Also,
Keep an eye on recruits all over the country pushing back their signing day to the final signing day. Too many changes were made throughout the country that will cause more recruits to delay their signing day when USC, LSU, Notre Dame, Oregon, Florida, and most importantly Mario Cristobal with a lottery ticket to get you whatever coach is going to make you a star if you put in the work. Unless you are signing up to play for Nick Saban and Bama you might want to listen to all the new coaches with the power to hire the right coaches from the NFL or college that will make these kids into super stars. Out of all these places only USC and Miami will be able to strike it big because of the NIL deals they will acquire once the schools are competing for National Titles.
