Morten Anderson had Ed Reed as a guest on his podcast and they talked shop for an hour straight. If you have time it is definitely worth listening. Amazing stuff. Talks about Baltimore , the U etc. Some highlights for those who can't watch:
- Says that the U didnt win championships it took them. "Everybody is trying to win the championship, you gotta take it. "
- Says CMD had to go. "There were certain things that he needed to change and he didn't change them. Simple as that."
- Said coaching was an essential part of how the U won titles. Having the right mix of coaches was crucial. Said that most of the staff was people who would later become elite coaches at higher levels and a lot of them head coaches and that matters. Cited Curtis Johnson, mark stoops, greg schiano, chuck pagano, mario, randy Shannon
- The mentality of the players at the U is not a championship mentality and that will have to change. He believes it will in time.
- Unrelated to the U but cant be left out of my summary:
- The current ball hawk guys in the league like Diggs and Ramsey are nothing like him and you can't compare their stats to his because "these quarterbacks suck. Most of the league's quarterbacks should be backups." lol.
