What we have learned in two weeks is this is probably a long rebuild .... UF game Canes played badly and made mental mistakes that I think cost the game ... what was vastly more troubling this week is the physical errors, guys too slow and out of position on defense in particular. Miami played well on offense and well on D other than opening quarter and final minutes of the game and still lost to a team with a not great roster level of talent that won 5 games the last two years. And it wasn’t just on Baxa - this should have been a game the Canes has well in hand without relying on a made FG or two.

That’s just reality.

The way out of it? Go back to the only way it’s ever worked. Miami has to our recruit everyone for local talent and stop losing top Dade guys. Even the best coaches need the best talent to win. Is Manny Diaz and this staff the group that will keep top guys home? That remains to be seen. But we should know in the next 2 recruiting classes. And with that said I think the coaches need to stop expending so much energy out of state - I know the National approach is needed to some extent ... just not at the cost of local guys that are dying to make UM great again.

I know most of you are very discouraged about the state of the program but even if Miami plays how it did at UNC it should be right in the thick of ACC Coastal title chase given the schedule and crossover opponents ... for those that actually want to face Clemson lol
