my wife and I said that instead of giving xmas presents we’d do a no kids four day trip. We really wanted to do a big city snow city. Everything we’ve heard is that manhattan has gone the way of pre guliani where dept stores are boarded up and people are getting mugged on fifth ave. Mich ave in chi town now has segued into south side, etc.

Looks like we’ll be staying local and just doing a four seasons, winter park, idrive/kissimmi/ Christini’s, christners, eptcot maybe, what ever deal.

My wife and I met at Delta Air Lines in 1982 and, after we got married, would fly to NYC every couple of months or so for a couple of nights. We had such a good time and Manhattan was truly the best City in the World. It's tragic what the current Mayor has done to that city. It might not ever get back to it's heyday.

Wife and I decided last year that we would do a Christmas Vacation. Our first destination, much like you was NY. This lasted until about early September. That’s when we switched to New Orleans. We stayed at the Roosevelt and were very happy. All restaurants had a Vax or negative test mandate. Otherwise you rarely saw a mask

Funny you bring up Salt Lake City. I honestly don’t really know anything about Salt lake city since i’ve lived in Florida most of my life and don’t get to travel often. My sister and brother in law travel a lot though and were just talking about salt lake being one of the cooler places they’ve vacationed. Come to think if it, i think my wifes sisters family is about to vacation there. That’s really funny you bring it up. Definitely worth looking into.

We moved here nearly 29 years ago and it has done our family well. Obviously it's not the top party spot in the USA but when it comes to outdoor activities it's hard to beat.
