Highest tax bracket in Norway is 64% to pay for it all!
But it's supposed to be free
Anybody who ever suggests that the US couuld do what Norway is doing hasn't really looked at the size of Norway or it's population numbers. Lol at the sheep that believe in this.
Less govt = more opportunity for leaders who add value to society. Oh yeah, I just remembered you add nothing to society and victimize yourself and every minority every chance you get.
I will say I have a good friend that lives in Calgary. He pays about 4% less a year in taxes than I do (if I consider my healthcare as part of a tax). You can have some of this stuff when 65% of your GDP isn’t spent on military.
Asked him about waiting for surgeries. He did say if it wasn’t something debilitating that there would be a waiting period. If it was something threatening or debilitating it’s immediate. They also have a mandatory 5 weeks of vacation there. Which I’m totally on board with. A week or two weeks is a joke. We all should get to live life some.
That being said I’m not in favor of ignoring our military but, we could spend about 30% less than we currently do. We would still be spending far more than every other country on Earth.

I think people who tout the benefits of other countries vs the USA should investigate relocating there. I am not saying I want people to leave, I am saying I want people to learn.

I hear this argument a lot but it doesn't really make sense to me. Rather than relocate to other countries, it makes a lot more sense to bring the best elements of other countries to improve our own country.
Actually, Norway & Finland adopted there education system that was proposed by an American. It was adopted in those countries in the 60’s. It was considered crazy here. Now they’re both in the top 5 of best educated countries in the world. Education is the way of staying on top.
I really believe we need to stop the world police tactics. It’s funny Trump ran on that during his campaign. Obama did to an extent as well. They get in office, the exact opposite happens.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if Trump doesn't start a major war during his time in office. He did run on a non-interventionist platform but with his poll numbers in the tank, I wouldn't put it past him to get involved in Iran or North Korea since interventionism generally galvanizes public sentiment behind the President. He has already dropped a MOAB in Afghanistan for no reason as well as bombed a Syrian airfield, so he is clearly has no problem in getting involved in conflicts.
As usual you have your facts wrong. Fake news. He never called Norway a shithole. In fact he said we should have more Norwegians coming over to this country.
What he actually said is that countries like Haiti, El Salvador and Nigeria are shitholes. Which they are. Not the people, but the governments. Corrupt governments keep the people in those countries very poor.

Tiv, you’re missing the point. Why would Norweigians come here? If you have some of the benefits they have, they look at it as a better way of life. They have a higher life expectancy, one of the lowest suicide rates in the world. If they had warm weather, a nice beach and, bourbon we would be beating down the doors to get there.
If he had his facts straight, he would've known that African immigrants are more educated than Americans, and as such, would be more desirable as immigrants, especially since Trump is in favor of a merit based system.
Trump is not gonna start any war with any country. He dropped a MOAB in Afghanistan to kill Taliban and ISIS terrorists. And he bombed a Syrian airfield only after Al - Assad had used chemical weapons against his own people. He was right in both cases.
As much as you may hate him, Trump is a tough guy who's gonna protect the American people. His predecessor was a pussy, as he let a number of countries take advantage of the U.S.

Most of Europe doesn't spend much money on military expenses because they don't have to because we protect them. So maybe if we quit protecting them we could spend our money on other things needed at home. You really want to see Europe go into full panic mode pull out of NATO and pull our troops out of Europe. Their utopia is at our expense. Yet they criticize us constantly.
I'm not referring to the system of education. A greater percentage of Subsaharan Africans have Bachelors and Masters degrees than the percentage of Americans who hold the same level of degrees (41% vs 32%). Ironically, a greater percentage of Sub-Saharan Africans have degrees than do Norweigians (41% vs 38%). So if Trump is interested in merit based immigration, he should be looking to bring more, not less, Africans to the United States.

Appeasement and diplomacy hasn't worked with these countries. Clinton, Bush and Obama have tried it and it simply didn't work. The only think some of these countries understand is force. So Trump has tried a more aggressive approach and it has worked.
But it should be pointed out that with China he has tried a lot more diplomacy and the Chinese are cooperating with us more than ever, especially with respect to North Korea.
They come primarily from five countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia and South Africa. If they are well educated I say let them come, because they will contribute a lot to our economy.

These people take moral responsibility for their citizens. I respect that. They don't just dump them in the streets when they are homeless with no health insurance and sick.
They also have a very responsible population with strong family core values. The citizens respect work ethic and their government.
Norway has a small population and is a socialist state. In other words, they have cradle to grave entitlements. That would never work in a country as big as ours.
Nor do most Americans want it. Otherwise Bernie Sanders would have won the election. Sanders is a hard core Socialist.
Look how well Socialism is working in Venezuela and Cuba.
