First Malik was limited some this week as we all know, to me, he doesnt look fully back, but he looks good enough to play and get the job done.. My only concern is deep throws, I am not sure what to expect there.. Adrenaline kicks in and you usually are ok, but it will be something to watch.. I still expect him to have a great game.. Richt has done a much better job this week with the qbs and the prep...
Richards has his confidence back this week that is for certain.. No drops, and seems to be having much more fun this week and much more relaxed and focused... Dugans has also been really pushing these guys to enjoy the moment, have fun and trust themselves.. I watched Berrios coach up Thomas and Harley at different times this week..He has been such a huge asset to this offense.. He knows the game better than anyone on the field, and he has really gravitated toward these younger guys to help them get better. Berrios is poised to have a huge couple of weeks imo..
From a technical standpoint, this was probably our cleanest week of practice on offense of the season.. No snap issues and communication issues like the last few weeks.. Wideouts werent dropping passes, the rbs and wideouts were understanding their blocking assignments..Overall a much more mature week.. From top to bottom the team is maturing and taking their practice to the next level.. If we dont win this week it wont be because we werent prepared, this was an outstanding week from top to bottom by our staff.. If we execute we will have a great chance to not only win, but imo win by double digits.. The advantage we have at wideout vs their secondary is huge imo.. We have much more speed than they do.. You could see the offense will be built this week around taking advantage of that..
I do believe @CashvilleCane1 was right about some of the signal stuff at UNC.. The team changed things up this week.. Thats all I will say about that, and it confirms that there was indeed some stuff that was getting picked up on.. To me, my question is, how long had opposing staffs been able to do this? That is just shocking..I am actually glad it was UNC who opened our staffs eyes to the issue..kind of crazy..
The biggest change I have seen this week from a play standpoint is Richt finally giving Malik some bail out routes and quick hit plays.. Herndon was all over the field this week in different sets.. I love what they are trying to do with him, I really hope they get him the ball over and over this game....
The runningbacks this week have been Homer 1 and Dallas 2, with Dallas getting much more work than Choc.. Looks like that may be the lineup to finish the year... I wont be surprised to see Choc used almost like a fullback as we end the year though.... Dallas needs some screens and quick hitters.. He made a few plays in practice this week that were outstanding.. He has to have a bigger role moving forward in the passing game..
Overall the team looks to be 100% ready for this game..I am not buying into the VT defense being so much better than anyone else we have played.. Their scheme is better and they force you to make quick decisions with the ball.. From a personnel standpoint Fsu dominates these guys in talent.. I have feared this game all year, but when you really break down the level of athletes across the board, miami has a big advantage.. Games like this are what Richt was brought here to win.. I personally believe be has done an amazing job this week, and now these players just have to have fun and execute and we will take care of business..
