His name has been dropped elsewhere on this board. He is a Miami native who is currently asst OL coach at Oregon under U-know-who.
He and Mario go back to their freshmen year at Christopher Columbus HS where later Alex coached when they made state playoffs . He was also on Mario's staff at FIU.
Prior to landing in Eugene Alex was OL coach at Marshall for 4 years. In 2017 his line finished 4th in FBS with only 11 sacks in 13 games. Oh, and did I mention that he started 4, count 'em, 4 FR on that line and 3 made the CUSA all freshman team?
(This year in their bowl bowl vs USF that same line did not allow a sack as the Herd rushed/passed for over 500 yards in their 38-20 win.)
He is the asst line coach bc Mario still oversees his specialty: OL so Alex"s title is: Centers & Guards / Offensive Line.
Don't know if he would want to come home or not considering his strong ties to Mario but maybe his Cuban ties are stronger. IDK if he and Manny know each other but considering their commonalities, maybe they do.
Just a name I thought I would pass along.
Go Canes!
