The White House on Thursday defended the closure of the Abbott plant that resulted in a shortage of baby formula but officials couldn't say when parents will see more products on the empty grocery store shelves.

'The reason we're here is because the FDA took a step to ensure that babies were taking safe formula. There were babies who died from taking this formula so they were doing their jobs,' White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at her daily press briefing.

President Joe Biden got personally involved on Thursday when he met with executives from infant formula manufactures and retailers including Target, Walmart and Nestle's Gerber to discuss the issue.

Abbott Labs responded in a lengthy tweet to the White House Ginger Liar.

It's important to know:

  • Abbott conducts microbiological testing on products prior to distribution and no Abbott formula distributed to consumers tested positive for Cronobacter sakazakii or Salmonella.
  • All finished product testing by Abbott and the FDA during the inspection of the facility came back negative for Cronobacter and/or Salmonella. No Salmonella was found at the Sturgis facility.
  • The Cronobacter sakazakiithat was found in environmental testing during the investigation was in non-product contact areas of the facility and has not been linked to any known infant illness. Specifically:
    • Genetic sequencing on the two available samples from ill infants did not match strains of Cronobacter in our plant. Samples from ill infants did not match each other, meaning there was no connection between the two cases.
    • In all four cases, the state, FDA, and/or CDC tested samples of the Abbott formula that was used by the child. In all four cases, all unopened containers tested negative.
    • Open containers from the homes of the infants were also tested in three of the four cases; two of the three tested negative. The one positive was from an open container from the home of the infant, and it tested positive for two different strains of Cronobacter sakazakii, one of which matched the strain that caused the infant’s infection, and the other matched a strain found on a bottle of distilled water in the home used to mix the formula. Again, neither strain matched strains found in our plant.
    • The infants consumed four different types of our formula made over the course of nearly a year and the illnesses took place over several months in three different states.

Little Petie is one of the most disengenuous politicians ever. He is fully aware that the US government pays for (aka controls the distribution of) approximately 50% of US baby formula through the WIC program. Pete's comment is on the level of a drunk driver that caused a fatal accident saying "not my fault - I didn't make the car".

Ideology isnt governance. When libs get in power that becomes obvious. But the left is much more advanced in manipulation and deceit than the right is. The cheating in the 2020 election had many well planned layers . The average person can not grasp the lengths to which the Dems wanted Trump out. As the illegality and deceit of the Russian Collusion gets revealed and the public is experiencing the suffering caused by the Biden administration the real nature of the Democrats will be on display for all the decent Dems who were fooled. As for leftist drones - only real economic suffering will convert any of them as many are simply consumed with propaganda and hatred of the country. .

No they stock pile it on the border for the increase immigration at the border causing 57% of Stores in San Antonio to be without formula on their shelves for my patients. This is criminal to take formula away from citizens that support our government and to give it preferentially to uncontrolled immigration persons that have not supported the state or government yet.

Brandon is responding by asking a 3rd world countries ( Chile and Mexico ) to send us formula . We are begging these backwater countries to feed our babies?

It was Obama's goal to knock this country down several notches. He has even said so. His people are back in power again and have disgraced themselves as they did when he was president. Trump was elected because he had the balls to criticize Obama and his policies.
Much of what these America haters are doing is intentional. Its not just incompetence. Incompetent people don't get a guy "elected" without the ability to think or act properly .They are very competent at lying and subterfuge.

Usually you don’t shut down a whole plant especially a crucial one. There wasn’t a lot of “science” directly linking Abbots to the troubles. Normally you identify any contaminated lots. Recall them dispose of the possible lots. You don’t shut down 43% of the supply of formula based on shoddy evidence. Then turn around and ship whatever’s left to the illegals.
Then when you complain they accuse folks of racism and not wanted brown babies to survive.
Excuse me what about all the black, brown, and white babies here that are suffering? Why do libs hate black babies? They try to abort as many as possible (with that intent) and now deprive them of formula. Who are the racists?

But the LOT wasn't contaminated. Abott produced the data. And even if it was 5-6 months to correct it? Incompetence at it's finest.
When you mess with Mommies you lose the election guaranteed.
